Romance Story: Always Be Mine

I never knew love could be as wonderful as this

I followed Mrs. Savage into their study room. One would have expected it to be a large office with larges books accumulating dust on the shelves. But, it was quite different, there was a wide table at the center of the room, a projector hung from the room, at the corner was a shelf stacked with several CDs. There were laptops on the table at the far end of the room. On the other side of the room sat a coffee machine and next to it were several picture frames facing the wall. I had to admit, the atmosphere was soothing.

“Have your seat dear.” She pointed to the sofa.  “Young lady, I do not want to waste any of our time.” Her eyes crinkled as she smiled. “So I won’t beat around the bush. I have a flight to catch and this money won’t make itself. She winked and I chucked catching in on her humor.

The young man you met downstairs is the one you would cater for. And oh, do not pay any attention to his rude comments. All you have to do is just help him with whatever he needs. She paused.

Please that doesn’t imply you shouldn’t do what’s expected of you.” I do not appreciate indolence. My boy can be very temperamental so I do not expect you to take his words to heart. Since Mrs. Benson highly recommends you, I trust you’ll do your part in this house.”

She stared at me with her sunken eyeballs and I nodded.

“I understand you had to do this to assist your parents well, that’s very nice of you. I would be paying you upfront so you won’t have to wait for the end of the month. She patted her clutch and smiled again. I was happy this couldn’t be happening.

Mrs. Savage raised her hand and shook her head.

“Please feel free to make use of anything you would be needing in the house also the study room would always be available to use. I tell you Adam is very sweet at heart and he could be nice at times.

I rolled my eyes and muttered. “When pigs fly.”

Mrs. Savage chuckled. “Oh, by the way, I heard you both are course mates right?”

“Well, I guess you won’t have a problem bonding with Adam after all.” She winked.

I smiled tightly.

So.” She stood and I quickly mirrored her action.  “I would show you, your room and get you accustomed to the house. I would be on leave for six months. So do take care of my grandson.” She whistled laughing at her joke.

Noticing how tensed I was, she patted my back, Don’t  worry dear I promise he doesn’t bite

“I hope your phone is in good condition, to enable me to reach you, or do you need me to get you another one?”

“No need for that ma, my phone is working quite alright.”

“It is okay then.”

We stopped at the door of a room after walking down the long corridor. The room had a bed, a table, and a mirror. Nothing much. It looked like it had been vacant for so long.

“You can decorate it if you want to.  There is a grocery cart on the kitchen island the pin-up has also been written on the slip by its side whenever you need to get anything for the house you should make use of the card. Adam’s father credits it every month so you don’t have to worry about it getting declined. She said.

“I guess, that would be all for now. Or would there be anything else?” she asked.

“No, I’m good.”

“Phew! I’m exhausted. Well, let me fulfill all righteousness and introduce you to Adam properly.” She sighed. So am I.
