What is love? If you’re not here with me?
”No, grandma, you’ve got to be kidding me. Why would this thing work here and stay in this house with me for a whole six months?” Adams puffed and eyed me.
I couldn’t contain my amusement. He looked so adorable when pissed.
“Stop it, Adam, you don’t refer to a human as a thing that’s a wrong thing to say,” his grandma scolded.
“I won’t have you are cussing her, she is here to help take care of the home and you till I am back. It’s not like you can handle any of it on your own. Besides, if you could do the littlest house chores, she won’t be needed.”
“Still, grandma, does it have to be her?“ He stared hard at me and immediately turned to her like I was sore to look at.“She is so rude and arrogant.” He whined.
Mrs Savage laughed. “Are you any better? And how would you know she had any of those when you had just met her a few minutes ago? Anyways I am in no mood for your tantrums. I expect you should handle this better. I have a flight to catch in an hour time. She smiled and picked up her cane. “Call me if you need anything, Adam, but I doubt you’d need anything.”
Then she winked and gave me a thumbs up.
I saw her off to her car and waved her goodbye. I did all I could to escape the raging storm behind me and ran as fast as possible to my room, locking the door behind me and feeling safe inside.
I picked up my phone and decided to video call my sister and Mo to tell them about my workplace or house rather. After about two rings, I got in touch with Mo and then my sister.
“Ella, my baby. How much I’ve missed you.” She said breathlessly and sighed. “Oh my, beloved Ella.”
“Uhm…Mo. Is everything okay?”
“Oh, of course, I’m practising for my role as Mrs Darcy in the theatre play Pride and Prejudice.”
“Hmm. Sounds great.
“Oh, why, thank you.” Then she did a mock bow. I giggled. “It’s been like a lifetime already. She blinked like a fair doll.
I couldn’t hold back the laughter.
“I know, right?”
“ Hey, Ella, hope you are settling in real good?” I couldn’t deny that I missed her cheekiness.
“ Well, it isn’t that bad except for one tinny bit of problem.”
“Ooh…what could that be?” No blinked furiously and rested her chin on her palm.
Then she resided her finger wide-eyed. “Don’t tell me it’s boy problem.”
My mouth hung lowly.
Mo clasped her hands. “I knew it!” Give me every tiny deets, baby girl.”
Then, I relayed all that happened within the last few hours to them. My sister looked bored and out of her wit. I bet she just wanted to know how I was doing, and that’s all.
“Really?“ My sister asked.
Mo was dazed, so to say, and was staring into space. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out she was drooling over Adam.
“Snap out of it, silly.”
“At least the good thing is, he is handsome.” my sister chirped.

“I guess so.”
Mo wouldn’t stop telling me how lucky I was to be close to so much beauty, and she couldn’t wait to see him.
“I’m coming to your place tomorrow.” She said.
“Uhm… no, you’re not.”
“Durh. Yes, I am.”
I shook my head. “Fine. You should come too.” I told my sister.
“Nah. I’m good knowing you’re fine.”
Just then, she and my sister started bickering at each other over what I should do to make him like me. I felt I had enough of their drama and ended the call.
I looked at the time. It was just past four. I decided to sleep for about an hour before preparing dinner and returning to unpack my bags.
I didn’t even know I had slept for so long because I only woke up to the loud bang against my door. It got more piercing and I groaned. The wall clock said past 7. I stomped towards the door and came face to face with Adam.
Oh my god, I’m so getting roasted today. Could this day be any worse?
